MoreFont for iPhone and iPad

Overview

MoreFont installs fonts on your iPhone and iPad so you can use them in apps that support custom fonts. It has two tabs:

  • Profile: install your own font files, or any family from Google Fonts, through an iOS configuration profile.
  • Fonts: a built-in catalog of open-source and Korean fonts. One tap installs a font.

Fonts installed either way appear in Settings > General > Fonts.

Installing any font with a profile

The Profile tab installs any font. MoreFont packs the font files into a configuration profile, which iOS installs from Settings. Fonts installed this way work in every app and stay even if you delete MoreFont.

Step 1: Import fonts

  • Import from Files: pick one or more TTF or OTF files from the Files app, iCloud Drive, or another location.
  • Google Fonts: browse or search Google's font library, filter by language, and tap Get to import every style of a family.

Imported fonts are listed by family. Tap a family name to expand or collapse it. Swipe left on a font to remove it from the list.

Step 2: Install

  1. Tap Install next to a font. With Premium, you can also tap Install All at the bottom to install every pending font in one profile.
  2. A page opens inside the app. When iOS asks to download a configuration profile, tap Allow.
  3. Tap Open Settings.

Step 3: Finish in Settings

  1. Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
  2. Under Downloaded Profile, select the font profile and tap Install.
  3. A Not Signed notice appears. This is expected: the profile was created on your device without a certificate and contains only the font files you chose. Tap Install again, then Done.

Back in MoreFont, the font shows a seal icon once it's installed.

The profile is built on your iPhone and is served to the in-app browser from the device itself. Nothing is uploaded or sent outside your device.

Installing from the Fonts tab

Browse and search

  • Fonts are grouped by family. Tap More under a family to see all of its styles.
  • Use the language menu in the toolbar to show English, Korean, or Japanese fonts. You can select more than one.
  • Use the search field at the top to find a font by name. Korean fonts can be searched by their Korean names.
  • Tap the checkmark toolbar button to show only installed fonts.

Install a font

  1. Tap the circle next to a font style.
  2. The font downloads and installs. A filled checkmark means it's ready to use.

Your first three installs are free. After that, MoreFont asks you to watch a short ad before each install, unless you have Premium.

A seal icon next to a font means it's already installed by a profile or another app. Manage it in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

Using installed fonts

Installed fonts appear in the font picker of apps that support custom fonts, including Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Procreate, GoodNotes, Canva, Affinity, and Microsoft Word. If an app doesn't list them, check whether it offers a font picker at all; some apps only use the system font.

iOS does not allow any app to change the system font. Installed fonts are for your documents, designs, and notes, not for the Home Screen or Settings.

You can see everything that's installed in Settings > General > Fonts.

Removing fonts

  • Profile tab: open Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, select the font profile, and tap Remove Profile. Swiping a font out of the MoreFont list only removes it from the list; the installed font stays until the profile is removed.
  • Fonts tab: tap the checkmark next to an installed font and choose Uninstall. You can also remove it in Settings > General > Fonts.

Premium

Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It includes:

  • Unlimited installs from the Fonts tab, with no ads.
  • Install All in the Profile tab, to install every pending font in a single profile.
  • No banner ads.

Tap Premium in the toolbar or in Settings to purchase. The price is shown in your own currency. On a new device, or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchase on the same screen.

Settings

Open Settings from the gear button in the toolbar.

  • Premium: purchase or restore.
  • Color scheme: choose the app's accent color.
  • User Manual: opens this page.
  • Rate and Review, Send Feedback, Share this App.
  • Open Source Licenses: licenses and copyright notices for every font in the catalog.

Troubleshooting

The font doesn't appear in an app

Make sure the font is listed in Settings > General > Fonts. If it is, fully close and reopen the app you're using. Some apps only read installed fonts on launch. If the app has no font picker, it doesn't support custom fonts.

A font disappeared after restarting my iPhone

Open MoreFont. If the font no longer shows a checkmark, tap it to install again. Profile fonts can be checked in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

"Need Update"

The font was added in a newer version of MoreFont. Update the app from the App Store and try again.

"Already Installed"

The font is already on your device, installed by a profile or by another app. It can't be installed twice. Manage it in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

The ad doesn't load

Check your internet connection and try again in a moment. Premium removes ads entirely.

Google Fonts is unavailable

The Google Fonts list needs an internet connection. If it still doesn't load, try again later.

The profile download doesn't start

Close the in-app page and tap Install again. If iOS asks whether to allow the download, tap Allow.
